Your role

The Cloud Infrastructure Manager will manage one of our Cloud Infrastructure squads from a technical, delivery & strategic point of view, with technical experience to help shape our ongoing cloud infrastructure strategy, leveraging the existing team to achieve a series of outcomes.

Reporting into the Head of Cloud Infrastructure and Release Management, this is a role that will require technical understanding of the technology solutions within AWS, EI Tech and be able to work within Aer Lingus business processes and systems.

 

As a Cloud Infrastructure Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Continue to evolve a self-managing team that will provide additional support to existing production support procedures across infrastructure, business and application support.
  • Collaborate with PMO, change management, QA, DBA and application teams.
  • Own regular status reports to management on application status and other metrics.
  • Collaborate with management to improve and customize reports related to production support.
  • Prioritize issues raised and resolve them accordingly.
  • Manage escalation and resolution of major service issues.
  • Escalate promptly to management and business partners regarding critical outages until resolution. 
  • Manage off-shore, outsourced vendor to an SLA and execution of critical situations.
  • Ensure resources are allocated to resolve problems/incidents.
  • Define and manage scope, budget, schedule, priorities and risk throughout multiple projects.
  • Constantly review new industry developments to explore advantages which might be utilised by Aer Lingus.
  • Is responsible for driving change within the department by examining processes within the team and across IT to ensure they are efficient and delivering satisfactorily to the other business units.
  • Ensures that the team and all its members develop within and across various technical skills which will improve resource utilisation and remove reliance on individual experts.
  • Will work co-operatively with other stakeholders within EI Tech to deliver Aer Lingus’ business objectives.
  • Ensure succession planning by developing talent and communicating knowledge.
  • Ensure the optimum support structure is in place to maintain Operational Stability both in and out of hours.
  • Interpret business requirements from a wider perspective and recommend/propose the most appropriate technical solutions in line with industry advances.
  • Ensure plans for the team and technical projects are aligned with the business objectives within the other D&M Delivery Transformation Initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of review and continuous improvement in how we deliver services.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • 5-7 years leadership experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects
  • IT degree or similar
  • Experience working in a strong project governance environment and maintaining delivery
  • Able to maintain and develop top-level, internal and external relationships
  • Requires strong communications skills to deliver simple or complex information and understanding when each is where appropriate
  • Broad knowledge of the Airline Industry
  • Demonstrates ability to resolve problems at a management and technical level
  • Experience in work with and managing off-shore vendors
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud and Infrastructure as Code technologies  such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Terraform
  • Good understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, QIP (DNS))
  • Experience in developing and managing large and small teams in a complex and global environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing & presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and lead technical conversations with various service support groups
  • Drive and determination to deliver outstanding results
  • Sound understanding of the organization's business strategy and industry direction
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team player
  • Possess excellent analytical skills as well as the ability to be detailed and process oriented
  • Be in possession or be able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
