Role title

Tool Storeperson Hangar Support

Your role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Hangar & Technical Tooling Manager in fulfilling all associated duties and responsibilities. In addition, the scope of this position has been expanded to include the following accountabilities and responsibilities.

Your responsibilities as a Tool Storeperson Hangar Support will include:

  • Maintain the optimisation of our current tool inventory including full responsibility for the upkeep, calibration & mandatory testing of this inventory. This includes conducting in-house testing & performing maintenance on tools within the scope of our approved capabilities.
  • Ensure general and aircraft specific tooling is issued & returned to engineers from tool stores in a serviceable condition & fully controlled in accordance with Aer Lingus tool control procedures.
  • Report any damage found to tooling & equipment upon return inspection to ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the quality & standard of tooling distribution throughout the network.
  • Ensure tooling is returned from testing suppliers on time to ensure that we always have the correct tooling available for planned maintenance tasks.
  • Ensuring that all inspection/test equipment in use is calibrated to acceptable standards and in calibration.
  • Assist with the creation and upkeep of tool data bases in AMOS.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the Hangar 6 tool stores, workshops, hangar & line maintenance facilities.
  • Cost Management/Optimisation of Hangar 6 services including Light, Heat, Power & waste disposal services.
  • Partake in and assist with significant Maintenance & Engineering projects using LEAN methodology as part of our progression towards the provision of a “World Class Maintenance Service” with a keen focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain in house tool testing capabilities while maintaining a strong focus on costs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal & external project teams / contractors.
  • Support efforts to optimise revenue by facilitating short-term leasing of Hangar 6 aircraft slots to third-party operators, including managing the issuance & completion of all associated work permits.
  • Represent the company’s interests in dealing with outside contractors & suppliers while possessing a keen commercial awareness.
  • Ensure external contractors carry out their work in accordance with Aer Lingus & HSA health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure that tools & the tool store locations are maintained in compliance with Health and Safety & good housekeeping standards.
  • Generate repair orders for the calibration and maintenance of tools at Dublin & designated outstations ensuring each order is tracked & returned.
  • Receive serviceable tooling into stock post calibration/testing ensuring compliance with goods inwards procedures & standards.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to promptly resolve supplier order and invoicing queries, ensuring timely payments to service providers and suppliers.

Your qualifications and key criteria

Your Role Continued:

  • Collaborate with the Aer Lingus plant equipment inspection contractor to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety independent inspection legislation, and promptly address any findings identified during inspections.
  • Upkeep and repair of hangar working at height equipment.
  • Servicing of the Nitrogen filling system to support line maintenance.
  • Assist with the management of our vehicle fleet and access equipment to ensure vehicles and stands required for aircraft maintenance are always serviceable and in good order.
  • Loading and unloading of serviceable and unserviceable aircraft engines to assist the engine workshop.
  • Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide support to the Hangar & Technical Tooling Manager as required and ensure continuity of essential services during their absence.

 

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide 3 verifiable references.
  • Full unrestricted driving licence.
  • Able to pass a 5-year enhanced security background check.
  • Well-developed IT skills with broad system/IT knowledge: Microsoft outlook / Word / Excel / Amos.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable with a positive attitude and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven technical ability with a good aptitude for technical tasks and logical problem solving.
  • Well-developed computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Competency in the use of AMOS. 
  • Prepared to adopt a hands-on flexible approach while working on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of calibration principles.
  • Able to pass a 5-year enhanced security background check as this role is based in Dublin.

Desirable criteria

Knowledge of Amos Maintenance System.
Understanding and management of tool control systems IAW EASA Part 145 Tools & Equipment.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and strong technical knowledge of tooling and equipment.
Forklift Licence.
Aircraft towing approval, to assist with maintenance movements to and from Hangar 6.
