Tool & Equipment Support Assistant
Your role
As a Tool & Equipment Support Assistant in the Maintenance &Engineering Department, you will be responsible for assisting the Hangar & Technical Tooling Manager with the performance of all the duties and responsibilities connected with that role.Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our aircraft.
Your responsibilities as a Tool & Equipment Support Assistant will include:
- Invoice Processing, Verification and Order Management.
- Maintain the optimisation of our current tool inventory including responsibility for the upkeep, calibration and mandatory testing of this inventory. This includes in-house testing and maintenance of tools within our allowed scope.
- Coordinate the timely return of tooling from calibration and testing activities to ensure the availability of serviceable tooling for planned maintenance requirements.
- Assist with the creation and upkeep of tool stock data bases within the department.
- Maintenance of Hangar 6 tool stores, workshops, hangar and line maintenance facilities.
- Procurement of tooling and equipment from multiple approved suppliers, including the effective management of key supplier accounts. Responsible for raising purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring accurate invoice processing in line with company procedures.
- Represent the company’s interests in dealing with outside contractors and suppliers while possessing a keen commercial awareness.
- Ensure external contractors carry out their work in accordance with Aer Lingus health and Safety standards.
- Collaboration with our insurance inspection contractor to ensure compliance in accordance with Health and Safety legislation for independent equipment inspection and action any findings.
- Assist the Hangar & Technical Tooling Manager as required and to provide any required services in his/her absence and the implementation of continuous improvement projects throughout the maintenance department.
Your qualifications and key criteria
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
- Assist with M&E environmental and sustainability obligations and regulatory audits by the relevant environmental authorities
- Assist with the development of procedures and processes for the management and control of tooling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and excellent organisational skills.
- Proven technical ability with a good aptitude for technical tasks and logical problem solving.
- Well-developed computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Competency in the use of AMOS.
- Prepared to adopt a hands-on flexible approach while working on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Understanding of calibration principles.
- Knowledge of AMOS maintenance system.
- Understanding and management of tool control systems IAW EASA Part 145 Tools & Equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and strong technical knowledge of tooling & equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP / Ariba payments system.
- Forklift licence.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Holder of a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
- Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin.
