Role title

Supply Chain Trade Compliance & Training Specialist

Your role

As a Supply Chain Trade Compliance & Training Specialist in the Maintenance &Engineering Department, you will be responsible for providing a dedicated in-house subject matter expert to ensure that all imports and exports from the Aer Lingus M&E Department are declared accurately and that all inhouse Inventory is monitored to ensure compliance with regulatory and Revenue required directions. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our aircraft.

 

Your responsibilities as a Supply Chain Trade Compliance & Training Specialist will include:

  • Providing the relevant trade data to Logistics providers to ensure compliant Customs declaration are submitted to Customs & Revenue to be compliant and avoid / minimise any penalties.
  • Advise of any change to Aer Lingus entity details.

  • Providing clear written instructions for all Customs declarations by way of detailed standard operating procedures or on a transactional basis.
  • Providing external Logistics provider with product tariff and commodity classifications, for each material category. Ensure all such documentation and information such as freight charges in a timely manner to ensure speedy and accurate customs declaration.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain a structured training program for Stores personnel, ensuring all new hires and existing employees receive comprehensive training on regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and AMOS system usage.
  • Conduct competency assessments to identify gaps and provide targeted upskilling initiatives. Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, including EASA Part 145 materials handling and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal training departments to integrate Stores-specific training into company-wide learning and development frameworks. Maintain training records, develop learning materials, and implement a continuous improvement approach to training effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting logistics and supply chain management.
  • Ensure all logistics and supply chain activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all transactions, shipments, and inventory movements.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, material planning or project coordination.
  • Strong understanding of trade compliance, logistics and supply chain processes and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with AMOS, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g. CPIM, APICS, CSCMP).
  • Experience in an MRO, industrial or manufacturing environment.
