Role title
Regional Sales Manager
Your role
Overall responsibility for achieving revenue sales targets, based on an assigned geographic area. Responsible for managing a portfolio of Key accounts (B2B) that sell to Ireland and beyond into Europe as part of our Dublin Gateway initiative connecting North America to Europe via our Dublin Hub. This position will be based in a location close to (however not limited to) the assigned gateways that currently include (SEA, SFO, LAX, DEN, LAS). The successful candidate is the Sales spokesperson in the local market and will be responsible for managing the relationships with key stakeholders that support Aer Lingus.
The Candidate will prospect for Small to Medium size enterprises whilst working closely with the Corporate Sales Channel. Furthermore, this position will work with AJB (Atlantic Joint Business) colleagues in (AA/BA/IB/VY/AY) promoting and selling in a metal neutral selling approach.
Principle Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Prospecting
- Key Account Management as per assigned portfolio.
- Create full end to end Strategic business plans as per assigned portfolio, including a SWOT analysis, enable market activation to drive incremental revenue.
- Foster and grow Aer Lingus business relationship within Irish community across all gateways (Ireland house and expanded key stakeholders).
- Identifies SME corporate market potential by qualifying accounts.
- Organize and maintains weekly diary management of sales calls & active Sales journey plans per quarter.
Securing
- Drive incremental revenue performance and monitor market share performance in line with capacity.
- Creates and negotiates contracts that reward revenue growth, market share growth.
- Identifies and implements new methods of distribution with a focus on obtaining the lowest cost of distribution through NDC connections and other distribution channels that are cost effective.
Maintaining Accounts:
- Candidates would manage B2B relationships through QBRs.
Provides timely feedback on customer needs, specific market conditions, competitive activity. - Candidate will work cross functionally with colleagues in Leisure and Corporate channels. Teamwork within Global team is essential.
- Participates in organizations/associations that provide a direct benefit to Aer Lingus with continued focus on revenue optimization with a defined call to action and demonstrated return on investment.
- Liaises with local mainstream and ethnic press and works closely with marketing, Press Office and other key stakeholders.
- Develops relationships with local and state government officials, such as Tourism Ireland, IDA, Enterprise Ireland
- Attends sales & marketing related functions to supports our brand development in the market, attend B2B events and support Marketing on B2C Irish diaspora events. (Please note events may fall outside working hours)
Your qualifications and key criteria
Education/Experience
- 5+ years related Airline/Travel Industry Sales Experience.
- A solid knowledge of the Airline industry, Commercial Sales.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Skills
- An enthusiastic Salesperson that can work independently on their own initiative. You must be self-sufficient whilst working well within a Regional Sales team.
- Out of the box prospecting abilities with a hunter mentality to secure the business in a competitive environment.
- Strong leadership presentation, negotiating, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills a must.
- Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to navigate problem solving with internal stakeholders to ensure the customer is always front and center.
- Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with corporate customers, travel agents, tour operators, E-Commerce travel agents.
- Ability to meet targets through KPI and Objectives with a razor shape focus on delivering customer service and delivering on Revenue and market share performance.
- Ability to create mini business plans for account remediation if required including SWOT analysis.
- Ability to create marketing plans and Sales promotional activities to drive incremental revenue growth, full end to end capability is essential.
- Intermediate computer/pc skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Aer Lingus product, the travel industry and the distribution process.
Critical Aspects for the Position
- Ability to work independently and create a sense of local ownership whilst critically working together within a team. Teamwork is a core component of the success of the sales team.
- Exceptional communication skills are required for public speaking and being the key stakeholder to represent Aer Lingus on the West Coast of North America.
- Previous Airline experience at Sales Manager/Sales Director level (NA) as this position will require the candidate to hit the ground running.
- Regional and International travel is required.
- Surface travel required via car.
- You must have a valid Visa to live and work in the US.
