Role title

Planning Manger -Fixed Term

Your role

This is a fixed term contract, reporting to the Director of Ground Operations Dublin, the role of Planning Manager (Ground Operations Dublin) is a critical role responsible for managing all resource planning, rostering and administrative support activities in Dublin Station. The role will manage the planning & forecasting of frontline resource requirements and will facilitate delivery of the resource plan for the operation. The role plays an integral role in the development of the 5 Year Business Plan and the annual budget.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Resource Planning and Budgeting

  • Manage resource planning for Dublin Station, aligning with budgetary and operational needs.
  • Assess the impact of business initiatives and seasonal changes on the resource plan for the Director of Ground Operations and action accordingly.
  • Liaise with the HR Business Partner Team to ensure resource plan and timescales within are fully delivered.
  • Lead Dublin Station's input to the annual budget and re-forecasting processes advising and guiding Finance Business Partner as required.
  • Monitor the impact of changes or initiatives on Payroll and Overheads.

Shift Planning

  • Propose and manage effective shift patterns to support business requirements.

Workforce Management and Development

  • Develop and manage Workforce Management tools (e.g. Workforce Plus, GS Planning).
  • Produce actionable recommendations for operational efficiency improvements for the Director of Ground Operations Dublin.
  • Manage and report KPIs related to sick leave, overtime and annual leave.
  • Continue with ongoing projects in relation to TMS automated reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with management on department wide initiatives or programs e.g. OHI.
  • Oversee station-wide communications and maintain effective relationships.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis and "What-if" scenarios.

Flight Schedule Optimisation

  •  Liaise with Flight Schedule Planning team for cost-effective schedules.

Support for Decision Making

  • Provide budgeting and roster demand analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Support the preparation of business cases for executive review.

People Management

  • Manage one Business Analyst, one Attendance Specialist and one Rostering & Admin Supervisor

Your qualifications and key criteria

  • BA/Business Studies degree required, preferred economics, statistics, business or equivalent qualification
  • An understanding of how Workforce/resource planning operates and experience of using workforce management tool(s),
  • Experience of developing resource plans and resource budgets
  • Experience in data analytics e.g. dealing with large volumes of diverse data customer, transactional or operational data
    Significant people/team management experience
  • Knowledge of aviation best practice and trends
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of ground operations work activities and workflows
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to present facts and opinions articulately, persuasively and objectively
  • Must be proficient with Excel to advanced level and have the ability to organise/analyse, import/export data in a structured manner (e.g. pivot tables).
  • Proficient in other Windows applications – MS Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills incl. the ability to explain complex information in an easy to understand manner and generate “buy-in” from key stakeholders
  • Awareness of the commercial challenges facing the business, combined with the ability to think strategically and act operationally.
