Payments Solutions Specialist

Your role

Applications are currently being invited for the position of Payment Solutions Specialist in the Airline Retailing team of the Customer department in Dublin.

Reporting to the Payment Product Manager, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for supporting the implementation of the payment strategy by identifying, tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators. With a strong focus on customer-centric insights, they will analyse customer feedback and data to uncover bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement across all payment touchpoints. These include, but are not limited to, the Aer Lingus website, mobile site, mobile app, New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Customer Contact Centre, in-flight purchases, and airport check-in


Your responsibilities as a Payment Solutions Specialist will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the Payments roadmap by developing and improving reporting dashboards, tracking new forms of payment performance, identifying payment issues and improvements.
  • Analysis of customer needs, behaviour and attitudes - and translating this into business recommendations. 
  • Tracking and analysing revenue and cost results, performance variances and providing supporting commentary.
  • Undertaking financial and economic analysis for business case evaluation.
  • Developing recommendations to optimise sales revenue, reduce costs and enhance ROI.
  • Obtaining and promoting an understanding of the digital and mobile payments market and the emerging payment schemes market and technologies within the team.
  • Monitoring and assessing market trends and developments in payments and innovation.
  • Reporting and presenting ad-hoc analysis to support future planning.
  • Collaborating with multiple teams across the Airline including Merchandising, Tech, Delivery, Operations & Revenue accounting.

Your qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the role of Payment Solutions Specialist, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or a proven track record demonstrating equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of Aer Lingus’ customer and market positioning.
  • Proven customer-centric mindset, with the ability to translate data and insights into improved customer experiences and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing KPI reports, dashboards, and delivering actionable, data-driven insights.
  • Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools, including Excel, Google Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, and Quantum Metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling reports and deliver clear, concise presentations.
  • Experience working closely with delivery and cross-functional teams to support the successful execution of business initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and report process or payment bottlenecks.
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Able to pass a 5-year security background check*(or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).

Desirable criteria

Good understanding of Digital, Offline Payment and Refund flows.
Previous experience with financial forecasting.
Knowledge of the airline industry.
