Role title

Deicing Operative

Your role

To support the winter operations team providing de-icing services to commercial aircraft. Provide the highest level of VIP customer service to passengers, crews and guests at all times, ensuring all services are provided to our customers in a safe and professional manner. On time performance and safety is the team’s number one priority. This role involves working an annualised hrs arrangement on an all inclusive salary basis with shifts between 02.00 hrs and 21.00 hrs.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • To perform all requested and relevant de-icing Operations to commercial Aircraft in a professional and timely manner.
  • To conduct Pre/Post De-icing checks of Aircraft for signs of frost, snow, ice contamination on Aircraft surfaces
  • To ensure for the correct application of de-icing fluids Type 1 and Type 4 to aircraft surfaces (I.e. Wings, Tail, & Fuselage) for removal of any contamination.
  • To accurately account and document fluid amounts and Types sprayed to the aircraft.
  • To perform daily quality control checks on all de-icing vehicles and equipment (fluid and fuel refilling of de-icing vehicles).
  • To operate headset/radio communications between Ground Crews, Flight Crews & Dispatch.
  • To know, adhere and comply with all SFS, DAA safety procedures, guidelines and training requirements as set out.
  • To submit Near Miss Reports and report hazard observations. • To ensure excellent Health and Safety performance is attained at all times according to internal policy to achieve Zero incidents and accidents.
  • Provide additional services as needed and requested by the Station Manager, Winter Operations Manager and Allocators/Supervisors.
  • May be required to undertake training and upskilling for Ramp operations work activity.

  • Responsibility for taking an active role in learning the duties, tasks and procedures required to perform your job in the safest, most professional manner.
  • Responsibility for performing your job in the safest manner to avoid or minimise the possibility of, injury to self or others, damage to property or equipment, and harm to the environment. Knowing, recognising, and respecting your personal limitations
  • Requirement to report all injuries or incidents including near misses, spills, to a Supervisor or Manager immediately. All team members involved in or witness to an incident will provide information to the supervisor conducting the investigation.
  • Thoroughly understand and comply with each HS&E policy applicable to your work environment. 2 The above list is not exhaustive and team members may, at any time, be required to complete other duties reasonably expected.

Your qualifications and key criteria

  • Excellent VIP customer service understanding and skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Numerical proficiency
  • Must have a full, clean driving licence. Applicants will be required to attend an airside driving course to enable them to perform their duties airside.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of awareness in relation to Health, Safety, Security and the overall environment is crucial.
  • Ability to work at heights is essential (training will be provided)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Able to pass a 5-year security background check*(or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
