Role title

Payment Product Manager

Your role

The Payment Product Manager will manage Aer Lingus payment costs and work to improve customer NPS by delivering payment transformation.

This role will have responsibility for the development, implementation and enhancement of our payment solutions. They will be responsible for the Aer Lingus Digital and Offline Payments Strategy and the associated customer focussed digital payments proposition. This will cover all touch points including but not limited to the web site, mobile app, Global Distribution Systems, in-flight and check-in.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that Aer Lingus is compliant with payment card industry and regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities as a Payment Product Manager will include:

  • Developing a Digital and Offline Payments Strategy and an associated overall customer based digital payments proposition.
  • Shaping and developing innovative Digital Payments Propositions which align with the broader Digital Strategy and the strategic and financial goals of Aer Lingus.
  • Developing payments propositions through the development of compelling business plans and by leading and participating in cross functional project teams.
  • Leading relationships with key external Payment partners and with internal senior business stakeholders across Retail, Commercial, Finance, Ecommerce, IT and IAG to secure engagement and buy-in to plans.
  • Bringing an understanding of the digital and mobile payments market and of current and emerging payment schemes and technologies to the team.
  • Analysis of customer needs, behaviour and attitudes - and translating this into a business recommendation.
  • Meet payment compliance obligations on EU Payment Service Directives and Payment Card Industry standards.
  • Developing recommendations to optimise sales revenue and reduce costs.
  • Analysing actual results and communicating performance.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • 3rd level qualification in Business / Commerce or relevant work experience.
  • Strong commercial focus with a clear understanding of Aer Lingus’ commercial and customer position.
  • Strong understanding of the digital and mobile payments market and of current and emerging payment schemes and technologies.
  • Experience working in a digital role within a large organisation and of bringing payment propositions to implementation.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, and ability to work with a cross functional team to deliver change.
  • Strong strategic awareness - can identify, size and explain a business opportunity.
  • Lead business case development for future innovations and initiatives in relation to online, digital, web and offline payments projects.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organisational and project management skills, a problem solver.
  • A convincing and influential communicator. Bright, quick thinking and self-confident.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and ability to define the metrics required to measure business performance and to analyse problems, identify and question.
  • Business acumen and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Be in possession or be able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
