Role title
Line Maintenance Manager
Your role
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance the Line Maintenance Manager (LMM) is a critical management position as required in our MOE (Maintenance Organisation Exposition) to meet regulatory requirements with manpower, Tooling, Facilities and training. The position supports the Director of Maintenance in managing the department strategy and vision
The LMM will have responsibility for the technical operations at the Aer Lingus line stations, ensuring adequate manpower, tooling, facilities and training are provided to meet operational demands
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the technical operations at the Aer Lingus line stations, ensuring adequate manpower, tooling, facilities and training are provided to meet operational demands.
- Promote the delivery of a safe and reliable maintenance operation in compliance with the requirements of EASA Part CAMO, EASA Part 145 and the Aer Lingus MOE conducive to best and efficient maintenance practices.
- Development and upkeep of MOE and Part 145 Company procedures
- Champion a culture of continuous change and improvement within the department by supporting the Director of Maintenance with all new efficiency initiatives i.e. Lean methodology. Proactively seek out opportunities to improve processes, policies and reduce costs.
- Deputise for the Director of Maintenance as required and support same in delivering department strategy and goals.
- Ensure the timely closure of corrective actions arising from Quality Assurance Monitoring process for those areas directly under their remit.
- Tracking and improvement of performance and KPI’s of maintenance activities, including Productivity, OTP, TDR, AOG recovery time and DDR rates on our Fleets.
- Ensure compliance with and promotion of SMS, mandatory reporting and Health & Safety regulations to enable a safe working environment and fostering a positive safety culture.
- Performance management and development of direct reports, coaching as required to foster a high-performance culture ensuring that they manage and motivate their respective teams to achieve high levels of performance.
- Co-ordination with HR, in the management of employee attendance, performance, conduct and discipline.
- In conjunction with the Director of Maintenance and IR, manage Industrial Relations issues as they arise.
- Management and oversight of 145 budget in conjunction with DoM
- Implementation of projects and initiatives as required by the business including change management and risk assessment
Your qualifications and key criteria
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- A current EASA part 66 licence or equivalent 3rd level qualification.
- Experience should be a minimum of 5 years within a line maintenance environment with experience of managing large teams of staff who must deliver a safe and reliable service to the operation.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the Maintenance operation including budget, manpower, tooling, facilities and training requirements.
Essential competencies/skills
- Proven leadership skills, strategic vision and managerial competency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with external and internal stakeholders.
- Proven negotiation skills and an ability to convey information objectively and persuasively.
- Demonstrable decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely, clear cut and well-informed decisions.
- Proven experience of effectively managing a team with the ability to motivate to meet deliverables in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Systems e.g. AMOS, and computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Familiar with using data to drive business practices & priorities
- Effective Listener and Communicator in engagement with team members and other business stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a Unionised environment.
- Proven Project Management experience
- Accountable for decisions made & take the relevant steps to fix any failures & inspire teams to improve going forward
- Experience working in an ETOPS environment.
People Management experience & accountabilities
- Holding people accountable to their tasks, hours, duties & performance to meet the standards
- Develop employee skills & performance through training & coaching to meet the business needs
- Provide constructive feedback on an employee’s performance, helping to develop an employee’s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems
- Reviewing employee performance evaluations and providing feedback on areas for improvement with supporting documentation
- Co-ordination with HR and Line maintenance in the management of employee attendance, performance, conduct and discipline.
- Demonstrate clear leadership role to lead and motivate their team to perform as a high performing team. Ability to empower their team to develop new skills and be more productive.
