Role title
Learning and Development Specialist FTC
Your role
As the Learning & Development Specialist at Aer Lingus, you will be an integral part of the Talent Management team, focusing on designing, coordinating, and delivering various learning and development programmes. Your role will be instrumental in supporting the professional growth and skill development of employees, contributing to a high-performing and engaged workforce. From identifying training needs to implementing innovative learning solutions, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and ensuring that employees have the resources and opportunities to excel in their roles.
This role sits within the Talent Management team which is part of the People Organisation. The position reports into the Head of Talent Management.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct learning needs assessments and identify skill gaps across different departments and levels of the organisation.
- Design and develop engaging learning content and materials, including e-learning modules, training materials, presentations, and other learning resources.
- Coordinate and deliver various learning programmes, workshops, and training sessions both in-person and virtually to address specific learning needs.
- Work closely with subject matter experts and external vendors to ensure high-quality training content and delivery.
- Administer and manage the learning management system (LMS), including tracking employee training progress and generating relevant reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Graduate Development Programme, supporting the onboarding and training of new graduates.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of leadership development initiatives and other talent development programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions through assessments, feedback, and data analysis to continually improve training outcomes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development to enhance training programs and delivery methods.
- Provide support and guidance to employees regarding learning opportunities, career development resources, and the use of the LMS
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development Programme Manager to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with overall talent management strategies.
- Support the implementation of diversity and inclusion training programs to foster an inclusive work environment.
- Assist in organising and coordinating company-wide learning events and development initiatives.
Your qualifications and key criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in learning and development, training coordination, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning concepts.
- Experience in designing and delivering training sessions and e-learning content.
- Strong organisational and project management skills to coordinate and deliver training programs effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems and other training-related technologies.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to assess training effectiveness through data analysis and feedback.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Desirable Criteria
- Professional certifications in Learning & Development, Training, or Human Resources (e.g., CPLP, CIPD).
- Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and safety training requirements.
- Experience in working with diverse groups of learners and designing inclusive training programs.
- Knowledge of talent management practices and talent development trends.
