Role title
Finance Systems & Data Manager
Your role
The role will have a strong understanding of finance systems (SAP 4/Hana), the underlying finance data and its correlation across the finance system landscape including the Revenue systems and Enterprise Planning Management (EPM) system
This role should improve and streamline processes and controls using data analytics and automation techniques to streamline end-to-end finance processes
The role builds analytics capability across the finance team and empower and upskills teams to increase automation and process improvements across the finance lifecycle.
This role will drive successful adoption and utilisation of SAP 4/Hana, and the suite of finance systems & tools, ensuring the finance transformation objectives are met.
Your responsibilities as a Finance Systems & Data Manager will include:
- Overseeing SAP 4/Hana & associated finance systems day to day support & enhancement roadmap.
- Ensuring the finance systems are stable with strong robust financial controls.
- Working closely with technology teams to define the data architecture for the finance ecosystem, ensuring the necessary platforms, data sets, pipelines and data layers are connected optimally to be able to implement various defined digital use cases; whilst ensuring the data can be reconciled back to SAP & other finance systems.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders within the Technology departments, IAG Transform, Software Suppliers and other internal and external parties.
- Holding service providers to account to fix and investigate reported problems and issues within a timely resolution and to ensure there are adequate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and processes in place to be able to do that.
- Ensuring the delivery of essential day-to-day finance systems support such as IDOC management (interfaces into and out of the systems), running schedules & approval hierarchy maintenance.
- Coordinating efficiently the resolution of incidents, bugs and enhancements between the service providers and the end users, within the agreed timeframes and to defined quality standards.
- Leading the development, implementation and documentation of ongoing changes to systems and new functionality (in conjunction with IAG Transform) and ensure with the support of the users that adequate testing is performed on all changes to systems to ensure their integrity is maintained, and that they reflect identified requirements.
- Working with end users to understand new initiatives/ their use cases and requirements and triage whether an enhancement is required in SAP/ Fiori versus assessing if the ask can be met via the Finance data warehouse (Databricks).
- Owning the roadmap and reconciliation of SAP data to downstream finance systems and build out of the finance data models in Databricks.
- Optimising the utilisation of SAP 4/Hana & ensure users are fully trained· & clear on best practice functionality& processes. Decommission old manual ways of working.
Your qualifications and key criteria
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least ten years post qualification experience (or equivalent experience gained in a large industry environment).
- Ideally a strong SAP 4/Hana and Fiori Finance system background and experience with how SAP data tables are structured.
- Change management experience in relation to the implementation of financial systems.
- Experience in managing a team of finance and systems professionals.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation and to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Knowledge of end-to-end Finance data including source systems, accounting engines, sub ledgers, data integration layers, general ledgers, consolidations, revenue or treasury systems and analytics/reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of defining principles and guidelines for the design and management of finance data and management and previous experience in major finance transformation programmes.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence.
- Experience in working with vendors and professional advisory firms.
- Ability to interpret business and technical requirements and support in translating these into clearly articulated strategy and deliverables to key business outcome.
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to analyse issues and their root causes.
- Strong personal credibility eg to facilitate building and maintaining external relationships, with a view to identifying best-in-class finance processes.
- Ability to document and support complex business systems flows.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Current unrestricted Passport.
- Be in possession of or be able to obtain an airside security pass.
