Battery Shop Technician/ Tooling Supervisor
Your role
As a Battery Shop Technician/ Tooling Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a battery shop, managing technicians, and ensuring the maintenance, repair, and testing of batteries Our Maintenance & Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by playing a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of battery-powered systems, which are critical to the airline's overall performance.
Your responsibilities as a Battery Shop Technician/ Tooling Supervisor will include:
- Supervise the testing and maintain the serviceability of our current aircraft main battery stock holding.
- Manage the day-to-day charging, overhaul and mandatory testing of batteries in accordance with the original manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all aircraft battery regulatory certification, associated paperwork and databases. (Raising repair orders in accordance with call up requirements and issuing the Form1 release certificate).
- Ensure Aer Lingus is always fully compliant with current regulatory requirements, OEM specifications and implement any changes in that may occur in the CMM.(CMM- Component maintenance manual).
- Manage battery stock levels to ensure Aer Lingus always has the correct amount of each type of battery available when required for maintenance tasks.
- Manage the spare parts stock associated with the overhaul of batteries to ensure we always have the spares in stock to carry out repairs.
- Liaise with technical stores and the materials team on battery repairs and serviceable stock levels.
- Support tooling with the optimisation of our current tool inventory. Including responsibility for the supervision of tool store staff and the upkeep, shelf-life calibration and mandatory testing of our tooling inventory. This includes in-house testing and maintenance of tools within our allowed scope of work.
- Maintenance of Hangar 6 tool stores, workshops, hangar and line maintenance facilities.
- Partake in and assist with significant Maintenance and Engineering projects using LEAN methodology as part of our progression towards the provision of a “World Class Maintenance Service” with a focus on continuous improvement.
Your qualifications and key criteria
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
- Experience working with aircraft battery equipment of OEM training qualifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and excellent organisational skills.
- Proven technical ability with a good aptitude for technical tasks and logical problem solving.
- Well-developed computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Excel.
- Competency in the use of AMOS.
- Prepared to adopt a hands-on flexible approach while working on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Understanding of calibration principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and excellent organisational skills.
- Well-developed computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Excel.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
- Provide three verifiable references.
- Able to pass a five year security background check as this role is based in Dublin.
