Applications are currently being invited for the position of IFS Operations Crew Manager (OCM), reporting to the IFS Manager Operations and the IFS Manager Service Delivery.

The IFS OCM is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operational activity relating to cabin crew across all bases and is the point of contact for cabin crew and/or a designated team of cabin crew. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that all operations run efficiently while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction are delivered inflight through good people management practices. The IFS OCM will work closely with the Cabin Service Managers and Senior Cabin Crew members to achieve this through performance management of cabin crew.

Role title

Operations Crew Manager

Your role

  • The IFS OCM will be required to make decisions relating to employee issues including employee conduct and disciplinaries.
  • Responsibility for the ongoing management of the cabin crew in line with company people policies and practices.
  • Evaluate any impediments and recommending improvements to be made to the IFS operation.
  • Provide clarity and manage any day-to-day non-adherence of Cabin Crew to Roster Planning and Roster Operation Policies, ensuring that there is follow up with the relevant crew member and manager.
  • To be a point of contact for trade union representatives.
  • When on duty, to be the IFS ‘out of hours’ contact for all cabin crew related matters.
  • Onward communication to operating cabin crew and base Operations Specialist of day-to-day operational updates from crew control including crew absence/lateness, change in aircraft, VIP info, special requirements etc.
  • Responsible for the management of the briefing area continuously reviewing processes and identifying and implementing improvements in day-to-day management of cabin crew operations.
  • Responsible for leading and driving change in cabin crew processes and procedures agenda and implementing changes where required.
  • Proactively ensuring that cabin crew have access to company communications and updates and all other information necessary to do their role.
  • Receipt & processing of all flight related information applicable to cabin crew.
  • Performance management of IFS Operations Specialists. 
  •  Ensure that all safety and incident reporting & follow up is completed.
  • Linking with other company stakeholders on crew issues, including customer complaints, safety etc.
  • Participation in emergency reaction planning.
  • Deliver IFS Voice of the Customer KPI’s.
  • Performance management of crew in all key performance areas including customer service, safety, inflight sales, punctuality and attendance.
  • Conducting timely return to work discussions and management of aspects of the attendance management process.
  • Mentoring and coaching SCCMs/CSMs to achieve a performance management culture.
  • Regular communication and engagement with crew on business, operational and performance issues, using a variety of communication and recognition channels.
  • Ensuring a duty of care is exercised in all interactions and dealings with cabin crew.
  • Management of all required business process discrepancies.
  • Debriefing of crew on critical incidents and catalyst for Peer Support process following relevant inflight incidents.
  • Acting as a change agent communicating and driving change in line with departmental strategy and objectives.
  • Undertake various safety tasks from time to time e.g. inflight inspections etc

 

 

Your qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the position of IFS Operations Crew Manager candidates must meet the following:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience managing teams in a fast paced operational environment
  • Be prepared to travel frequently, which may occasionally be at short notice
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
  • Ability to drive improvement initiatives and mentor employees
  • Shift work will be required as the operational schedule requires, 7 days a week
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to engage and motivate large teams
  • Excellent relationship builder with sound emotional intelligence
  • A proven effective people manager with strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable, with proven ability to operate in an ever-changing environment
  • Team player with ability to influence
  • Organisation skills and ability to prioritise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present facts objectively and articulately.  Good report writing ability
  • Comfortable with the use of data to inform business actions
  • Comfortable working with I.T. applications combined with the ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Resilient and tenacious
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU
  • Provide 2 verifiable references
  • Current unrestricted worldwide passport
  • Able to pass a five-year security background check

*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
